Ohio Health Authorities report the recent case of novel flu variant on Thursday. The patients weren’t hospitalised and they are completely recovered. The health department also promised that the younger Ohioans will receive $100000 as part of a new incentive.
Ohio Health Authorities found a person infected with a novel variant of influenza A. That variant is called AH1N2V. This is the type of flu virus often referred to as swine flu. This is the third report of this particular variant in the United States this year.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced a new round of vaccination incentive programs Thursday, although it is not clear if other incentives offered earlier this year increased vaccination rates. Younger Ohioans could receive up to $100,000 as part of a new scholarship vaccination incentive from the Ohio Department of Health.
Gov. Mike DeWine announced in a press conference Thursday that Vax to School program is a new scholarship drawing open to any Ohioan aged 12 to 25 who receives a COVID-19 vaccine. Five $100,000 scholarships will be offered along with 50 $10,000 scholarships. DeWine said that the money can be used for a number of career or college opportunities, including tuition or job training. He added that more details on what the scholarships can be used for and how to sign up for the drawing will be announced next week. Nearly 46% of people between 12 to 25 years are vaccinated.
