Completely Vaccinated Customers Can Loosen Masks, say Companies

After federal health officials announced that Completely Vaccinated Americans no longer need to cover their faces when in stores, Starbucks, Target, and CVS joined a growing list of companies loosening their coronavirus face mask policies on Monday. Customers who are two weeks past their last necessary vaccine dose are no longer required to cover their nose and mouth within a CVS, Target, or Starbucks site, unless state or local laws require it, the companies announced in separate statements.

Customers who have not been Completely Vaccinated, on the other hand, will be required to wear suitable face coverings until they are fully vaccinated. Target said in a meeting, “Face coverings will continue to be strongly recommended for guests and team members who are not fully vaccinated and we’ll continue our increased safety and cleaning measures, including social distancing, throughout our stores.”

Completely Vaccinated Customers Can Loosen Masks, say CompaniesWorkers at CVS and Starbucks are also expected to cover up at work, although Target employees who have not been vaccinated are “strongly advised” to do so. Companies that are lifting their policies, such as Target, remain committed to making their guests’ health and safety a “top priority.”

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed mask-wearing guidelines for Completely Vaccinated people, enabling them to avoid wearing masks outside in crowds and in most indoor environments, in a big move toward returning to pre-pandemic life.

The CDC advises fully vaccinated individuals to wear masks in crowded indoor environments such as public transit, hospitals, jails, and homeless shelters. Walensky also advised immunocompromised people to seek medical advice before ditching their masks, but he cautioned that if the country’s case count rises again, the advice should change.
